Tomorrow's Leaders builds a strong foundation for civic-minded, intellectually able and professionally skilled university students, preparing them to become future community and business leaders through high-quality academic support, leadership development activities and civic engagement opportunities.
A partnership with a purpose
Tomorrow's Leaders is a joint effort between the U.S. Department of State's Middle East Partnership Initiative (MEPI) and The American University in Cairo. Since 2008, AUC has welcomed scholars from across the Middle East and North Africa to a fully funded, four-year journey that pairs a world-class education with a community of peers, mentors and staff.
The program selects students with leadership potential who have traditionally lacked systematic access to an American higher education, and who represent the region's cultural, religious and geographic diversity. At AUC, scholars develop their leadership skills, engage actively in the civic community and grow as young professionals who are ready to change the world.

Tuition, enrollment costs and university fees for the duration of the degree.

University medical insurance whenever you are enrolled in courses at AUC.
Two round-trip tickets per year to your home country for non-Egyptian scholars.
Eligible scholars spend a fall or spring semester at a partner institution in the United States.

Academic advising, tutoring, career advising and a dedicated well-being counselor.
